Maurice Bouchard’s career path has been anything but conventional. The Watkinsville, Georgia-born artist and caregiver has combined a background in healthcare with a lifelong passion for creativity, establishing himself as both a stay-at-home father and an independent artist whose work resonates with communities built around imagination.
Bouchard grew up surrounded by music, sport, and storytelling. He played clarinet throughout school—earning All-State recognition in middle school—while also competing in local football leagues. Outside the classroom, he immersed himself in manga series such as One Piece and Naruto, video games like Morrowind, and the expansive worlds of science fiction. These early influences fostered an enduring love of narrative and character that now fuels his artistic pursuits.
After graduating from Oconee County High School, Bouchard attended the University of Georgia, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in 2012 as a Charter Scholar. He later became a certified nursing assistant, working in memory care and hospital settings. Those experiences, he says, shaped his patience, empathy, and ability to focus—qualities that continue to inform his work today.
“Caregiving taught me to slow down and really pay attention,” he explained. “That same mindset carries over into art, especially watercolour painting, where you can’t rush the process.”
In recent years, Bouchard has shifted his focus to life at home, balancing family responsibilities with a broad creative practice. His projects include painting, guitar, 3D printing, and the intricate design of Warhammer 40K miniatures. For him, these are more than hobbies—they represent leadership in communities where imagination brings people together.
“Leadership is less about titles and more about influence,” he said. “If my work inspires someone else to create or to see value in art, that’s leadership.”
Bouchard’s approach is shaped not only by artistic skill but also by wider cultural influences, including professional wrestling, which he sees as “storytelling in motion.” He credits the performance and resilience displayed in WWE and NXT with reinforcing his understanding of drama and payoff in creative expression.
Faith also plays a central role in his outlook. His Christianity, he says, helps him find purpose in both family and art, guiding him to look beyond the immediate and to connect deeper meaning with creative work.
Looking ahead, Bouchard hopes to continue blending personal passion with professional purpose. “I want to keep creating and keep connecting,” he said. “Art, music, gaming—they all show people the value of imagination in everyday life.”
